Kind of a late reply, but I was just randomly googling photos of Janis Joplin, and look what I found? http://www.nndb.com/people/212/000022146/janis.jpg

Gee, I wonder who the artist based his Dirty Girl illustration on? Hmmmm. .
All hail the dirty girls! I love the mud, the sweat and the grass stains forever.

I love dirty little girls, muddy feet, torn clothes, no bras, lots of underarm hair and a delicious scent of fresh sweat.

Thank you for this entry. I needed to read this, having been publically reviled & misrepresented recently as one of these bad, fallen, abominations of women & was starting to believe it about myself.

i just saw an easter play (out of family obligation) this weekend in VA called "the man called jesus." i can't stop thinking about the portrayal of mary magdalene, who was played saucily-as-all-get-out by a captivating, sumptuous and beautiful black woman. she has demons cast out of her and then became less fun, but i thought it fun that the (christian) director failed to realize how appealing a character she was...

I love people-stink, too. My partner still thinks I'm weird after nearly four years when I nose-dive into his underarms. *sigh* He is way too diligent about the anti-perspirant, though. I have a good friend who always smells delicious to me--she can have been int he studio working for three days straight with no shower, and the smell of her is just pure earth and sex. Yum. And I like the way I smell au natural. And I've always wanted snakes for hair. And and and.

Here's to playing in the mud, the sand, looking for pebbles in ditches, and getting filthy and smelly! Thanks for the ode.
