After the shooting, I felt like I couldn't trust any of the walls of presumed safety that we all build up to get through the day. Every wall became suspect, because one of them came crashing down. It was really hard to convince myself to buy into the GREAT BIG LIE that the world is a safe place after that. Some days I still struggle with that.
