Thoughtful and very smart, as always, but more importantly cuts to the heart of the struggles so many of us have with both kinds of "houses". This post really made me think about how tied some of us (like me) can be to places/houses as much as the person we become/thought we were in that place.

I have had many of the same thoughts about my (two) periods at 2541 Grand, and all the emotional baggage tied up in that house. A different, somewhat easier emotional "neighborhood" than the worst of the comparisons you make here, but apt in many other ways.

Thanks for the piece. Good luck with navigating the new spaces.
