11.26.05: photography: strength - With a solid week of tricky feminist processing under my belt,
a lot of difficult issues in my life coupled with many fine blessings,
and the start of winter, I'm feeling weathered but able. I often
shy away from remarks on how strong I am -- it's as much a burden
as a boon sometimes -- but a profound strength was what I saw
and felt in these graphic, fine art nudes and portraits.

the light had other plans, so there aren't as many as I'd like.

10.22.04: photography: pour son plaisir - Real-life couple Seska and James were an absolute joy to photograph
in this set focusing on woman-centered pleasure. Certainly, it
doesn't hurt that they're two of my favorite people, nor that
Seska may be my favorite model to work with, hands-down, or that
both are incredibly comfortable in my presence and in front of
the camera. But what we got one afternoon in Montreal during this
session contains some truly beautiful, glowing and very intimate
moments.

10.05.04: photography: 4x4 - I started with one rule for this shoot: I had to limit myself
to a space no larger than about four square feet around, and only
try and shoot within that area (try being the key word). Because my wireless remote was being dysfunctional,
I also had to use a timer, which resulted in shots a little more
spontaneous than usual, since I had less control over when they
were being taken. The results were very candid shots in half natural
light, half floods, processed in midtones with an odd mix of a
modern and slightly retro feel.

08.02.04: photography: hothouse - Starting a month of black and white photography, a set of both
tender and intense portraits and nudes. Deeply personal and intimate,
a little raw around the edges, these shots lit with afternoon
sun expose and uncover. (While I tend not to give these warnings,
because I figure if you're surfing at work on the company dime
that's your own issue, it should perhaps be mentioned that some
of the photos in this set are very unlikely to be work-safe, and one of the samples, while subtle,
may be as well).
